Telco plans to launch user-friendly cloud security service
Hamburg, Germany: The growth of smartphone usage in the Asia-Pacific region is unstoppable. Between 2013 and 2015 alone, the number of users in Vietnam, Indonesia, India and the Philippines has increased more than fivefold. Yet the corresponding security awareness among users has not kept pace with this fast-paced development. As a result, the area has become a veritable paradise for mobile malware – and fighting against this increased level of threat demands a fresh approach to security. This is why the Vietnamese telecoms provider VinaPhone has signed a partnership with the German security specialist Secucloud and plans to launch a new security service for its more than nine million smartphone customers early next year. The service will comprise multiple high-performance security functions in the cloud, protecting users from cyber-threats on the mobile internet with no need for any local software installation or maintenance.
