Cyber security specialist Foregenix has kicked off 2018 with a new office in Brazil.
The new São Paulo office adds to bases opened in Mainz and Sydney last year. The Marlborough, UK headquartered firm has established overseas operations in Montevideo, Boston and Sandton near Johannesburg.
Guilherme Scheibe, who has worked at Foregenix for three years as a managing consultant, heads the Brazilian office.
The latest expansion comes against a backdrop of rising Internet use in Brazil, with more than 66% of the population online in 2016, up from under 3% in 2000. The Brazilian Federation of Banks estimates more than 50% of all financial transactions in Brazil are now made online. Both trends have generated a significant rise in cyber crime, making it a hotspot for cyber criminals.
Foregenix generates two-thirds of its revenue from international sales of its software solutions and consultancy teams, which operate in 20 countries.
Guilherme Scheibe comments: “Our experienced team is already attracting clients that want top level cyber security consultancy and software solutions. The new São Paulo office shows the company’s commitment to further building our operations in Brazil.”
Benjamin Hosack, Chief Commercial Officer of Foregenix comments: “Brazil is a rapidly growing digital economy with a high demand for specialist cyber security skills and experience. With its position as the Latin American economic and financial services leader, investing in a permanent presence is the next logical strategic step for Foregenix as we continue to build our international client base.”
The Sunday Times named Foregenix as one of the fastest growing exporters in 2017 - the only cyber security company featured - in its SME Export Track 100.
Foregenix works in multiple industries, with specialist experience in the retail, education, utilities, government, public sector, banking and finance sectors.
