New tech added to RFA Lyme Bay so it can act as minehunting mothership

The Royal Navy is stepping up its mine hunting capabilities with new cutting-edge uncrewed equipment being added to RFA Lyme Bay in the coming days.

The high-tech equipment will be able to detect, identify and neutralise threats and is part of the Royal Navy’s transition to a ‘hybrid navy’.

The move comes after RFA Lyme Bay was brought to heightened readiness several weeks ago.

Magena backs call for stronger legal protection for security workers

Magenta Security is supporting the UK Parliament petition calling for assaulting a security worker to become a standalone offence, adding its voice to growing calls for greater protection for the people who help keep businesses, venues, frontline teams and the public safe.

For Magenta, the issue goes beyond enforcement. IWF reports sharp rise in AI‑generated child sexual abuse material online

London: The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) has reported that the amount of AI-generated child sexual abuse material found online rose by 14 per cent in 2025, with the majority of videos showing the most extreme type of content under UK law.

Across the year, IWF identified 8,029 AI-generated images and videos depicting realistic child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Of the 3,443 videos analysed, 65 per cent of the were classified as category A, the term for the most severe material classification.
