In his address to his country and its people following the needles attack today on a Kenya’s prestigious shopping mall-the Westgate Shopping Centre Uhuru Kenyatta who told the nation to remain calm as the situation had been brought under control, courtesy of the nation’s multi-agency security efforts said the perpetrators aimed at intimidating and dividing the peace loving Kenyans, but was quick to assure the nation that terrorists would be defeated.

Said he:"The despicable perpetrators of this cowardly act hoped to intimidate, divide and cause despondency amongst Kenyans," Kenyatta said in a televised address to the nation. "We have overcome terrorist attacks before. We will defeat them again.

The monstrous Somalia-based Al-Shabaab terror group who have claimed responsibility for the gruesome act are believed to be on a revenge mission and about 39 deaths have so far been reported including 150 wounded.

Meanwhile, the cowardly act has received worldwide condemnations from World leaders.
