Palo Alto, CA: Accellion, Inc., the award-winning pioneer in providing enterprise-class, secure and mobile file sharing solutions, and Quickoffice, Inc., the global leader in mobile office productivity solutions, today announced a first-of-its-kind integration. Quickoffice and Accellion partner to offer an integrated, secure, file editing, saving, and sharing environment for mobile devices.
The new integrated solution protects users by seamlessly keeping them within Accellion’s managed and secure file sharing environment throughout the mobile file sharing and editing lifecycle. Quickoffice’s SaveBack ™ with Accellion enables users to save files only to Accellion from within Quickoffice or save files locally under the protection of Accellion’s offline content encryption and user-chosen security passphrase. Quickoffice SaveBack feature integrated with Accellion is critical for enterprises in regulated industries, where content security and tracking is essential to compliance.
“With the explosive growth in mobility, many IT departments are faced with an influx of consumer-grade mobile apps used to access confidential sensitive information,” said Yorgen Edholm, CEO for Accellion, Inc. “With this expanded Quickoffice integration, Accellion is supporting employee demand for mobile productivity apps while simultaneously empowering IT departments to manage how data is saved, and where it resides.”
Accellion Mobile Apps are easy to deploy and use and are available for Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad, and iPod), BlackBerry, and Android mobile devices. Once users have downloaded an Accellion mobile app, they can simply point their mobile app to an Accellion file server, login with their credentials and browse to find the most up-to-date content. Users have the ability to save a file locally on a mobile device, load it into a productivity app such as Quickoffice Pro HD, make updates to the file, and then save it back, all within the same Accellion secure environment. Users can also work offline. Local files on a device can only be accessed with a user-chosen security passphrase specifically associated with an Accellion app and the mobile device. With a WiFi or data connection, users can then upload files back to Accellion to share with collaborators.
Quickoffice enables consumers to access, view, edit, and share Microsoft Office documents. It is the most 'connected' application in the Apple App Store, providing seamless, integrated access to popular cloud partners.
