No doubt, excellent customer service does come with rewards. But when service delivery is such that an organisation is nominated twice in a year, it automatically puts it in a class of its own. These are the credentials Advance Security will be parading for a long time to come, having received two nominations in the ‘Guarding Service Delivery to Customer’ category at the 2011 IFSEC Annual Security Awards for its work with leading defence organisation BAE Systems (MAI) and the UK’s largest home shopping and online retailer Shop Direct Group (SDG).
In nominating Advance Security twice for the prestigious Awards, the judges were impressed with the advanced level of training implemented on the SDG contract, in particular praising the professionalism of the officers and the high level of searches performed on-site, which has seen a dramatic reduction in stock shrinkage.
Vigilance learnt also, that strategic changes implemented by the team have also made a notable impact on the performance and motivation of the security team, resulting in a real difference to profit protection for the client.
A source on the panel of judges said training was an important influence in Advance Security’s second IFSEC nomination. The guarding service at BAE Systems (MAI) was commended for its integrated approach to all aspects of security provision and consistency of service, arguably achieved through its ongoing Professional Development Training Programme and comprehensive industry leading training package delivered across all levels.
“By taking a genuinely integrated approach to all aspects of BAE Systems’ (MAI) security provision, including the vetting and training of personnel, consultancy and the seamless management of its manned guarding and technologies security provision, we believe we’ve created a best practice business model with the potential to be rolled-out across the wider industry,” enthused Advance Security’s Managing Director, Richard Bailey.
Bailey added: “Training obviously plays an important part in equipping our teams with the knowledge, techniques and personal skills they need to perform and this clearly paid off - achieving two shortlist nominations for our work is a real credit to those involved at both the BAE Systems (MAI) and SDG sites.
The manned guarding specialist is up against six others in the category, at the event which celebrates the best of the UK Security industry and professionals. The winners of all of the 10 categories will be announced at the ceremony held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 16th May 2011.
