Customer engagement and loss prevention specialist nominated for two Retail Fraud awards
Indyme, a leading provider of real-time engagement and loss prevention systems, has today announced that its Smart Sense Touch and SmartFit solutions have been shortlisted for the Most Innovative Product and Most Innovative Cross Functional In-store Product, respectively, at the 2015 Retail Fraud Awards.
Fitting rooms are where most apparel buying decisions are made. Fitting rooms are routinely mentioned in customer satisfaction surveys as being the most influential in determining overall satisfaction and have a significant impact on the customer experience. Yet this sadly is also the principle area where shoplifting most frequently occurs.
In response to this problem Indyme developed SmartFit, a new fitting room management system. It enables apparel retailers to track fitting room use and customer dwell, identify suspicious behaviors, and deter theft in the fitting room.
SmartFit can also data log known theft events such as stripped tags found in the fitting room enabling Loss Prevention professionals to “heat map” the highest theft locations in the store. Armed with this data, retailers can make intelligent policy decisions such as whether to lock or unlock fitting rooms, staff fitting rooms and, if necessary, alert security staff of any unusual activity.
Demonstrating its cross-functional potential, shoppers can also use the solution to reserve a fitting room, enabling incremental shopping, request a locked fitting room be opened, reducing item abandonments or request assistance from within the fitting room, ultimately improving customer engagement and conversion.
Additionally, Indyme launched Smart Sense Touch – a revolutionary new generation of sensor technologies that detects when a product is handled on shelves or pegs. It can be placed anywhere on the fixture and requires no mechanical devices typical of today’s loss prevention devices. If suspicious number of product movements are detected, Indyme’s Smart Response system wirelessly notifies store personnel of suspicious activity so they can approach the area, effectively deterring theft while at the same time improving customer service. By increasing shopper engagement, Smart Sense Touch has proven to increase sales while decreasing shrink.
In response to being shortlisted, Joe Budano, CEO of Indyme, commented: “We are delighted that our most innovative new products Smart Sense Touch and SmartFit have been shortlisted for the 2015 Retail Fraud Awards. These products were born out of critical loss prevention problems faced by our most valued customers. We were challenged to find a better way to solve these chronic shrink problems and our engineers innovated these exciting and groundbreaking new products in response to customer needs.”
“It is important that technology helps retailer stay one step ahead of would-be thieves. Smart Sense Touch and SmartFit are having a positive impact by deterring and preventing theft while minimizing the effect on customer experience. It’s great that these innovative new products are being recognized by the loss prevention community.”
The 2015 Retail Fraud Awards will showcase the very best in fraud and loss prevention, people, processes, and technology and will be held on 8 October in Leicester.
