The Europa team at the Backweston Campus in Ireland has 17,000 reasons to celebrate after hosting the latest of what has become an annual charity celebration.
Throughout the past eight years, Europa and clients the Department of Agriculture and State Laboratory have together raised an incredible €17,000 through hosting yearly food and drink fundraisers.
A wide range of charity organisations have benefitted from these events, including St Francis Hospice, Dyselxia Association, Cardiac Unit of Crumlin Children’s Hospital, St Raphael’s Centre for Intellectual Disability, Pieta House, Barretstown Children’s Charity and St Annes’s Special School. Many of these were chosen because of their links with or involvement by staff members working on the campus.
An impressive €1,946.66 was raised at the most recent event raised held on behalf of Dublin Simon Community, an organisation that works to prevent and address homelessness in Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow. They provide services at all stages of homelessness and enable people to move to a place they can call home.
The whole Europa team and client representatives rolled-up their sleeves for a great cause, with the catering team ensuring all attendees were well fed and went home with full stomachs, the engineering team displaying great innovation in rigging up sound systems and moving furniture , security staff exhibiting the usual professionalism throughout the event and the cleaning team ensuring the venue was restored to pristine condition.
Justyna Drogomirecka of Dublin Simon Community, said: “We were delighted to have the support of Europa and for the hard work put in by all the team to their annual fundraiser. We are extremely grateful to companies like Europa, as without their continued support we simply wouldn’t be able to survive and provide crucial services for very vulnerable people.”
Pat O’Meara, Europa Account Director, said: “The whole of our team across all the hard and soft services that Europa delivers at the Backweston Campus came together to deliver a truly fantastic event. Over an eight year period we have raised a remarkable amount for great causes across the local area and everyone involved should rightly be very proud of this success.”
Europa provides Total Facilities Management services to the 37,500m² Backweston Campus which houses the Department of Agriculture and State Laboratory.
