The UK information security industry is again supporting White Hat Rally in raising funds to support Barnardo's in the charity’s work with vulnerable children.
London: The White Hat Rally, an organised charitable car rally, is on the road again marking the Olympics with a stunning long weekend of fun, challenges and driving in Chariots on Fire!
First formed in 2009 by a group of kind-hearted individuals from the UK information security industry, the White Hat Rally has gone from strength to strength and is now in the starting blocks for its 2012 “Chariots on Fire” event.
The event is being held 22-24 June 2012 and each team will represent a competing Olympic country in vintage cars and bangers – and fancy dress. Starting in Market Harborough and taking in miles of scenic countryside on small windy roads, the route will take you up into Lincolnshire before returning to Buckinghamshire, with many activities and Olympic themed challenges along the way guaranteeing an action-packed fun filled weekend for all participants.
"Looking ahead to the London 2012 Summer Olympics, the theme for the rally is based loosely on the exploits of those rousing symbols of Olympic Spirit in the film “Chariots of Fire", but his time we’ll be on four wheels rather than two feet!” says John Denneny, one of the charity committee organisers.
“The rally supports a chosen charity any given year and 2012 will see it raise money for Barnardo’s. As one of the UK’s leading children’s charities, Barnardo’s works directly with over 190,000 children, young people and their families every year. Barnardo’s support, stand up for and turn the lives around of children devastated by their circumstances” Denneny added.
The event is open to all – team registration is from just £300 and comes with a commitment to raise a minimum of £1,000. You can support Barnardo’s in the charity’s work with vulnerable children and teenagers by entering a team, but also by sponsoring the event or by making a donation. “Even if you can't make the event, but want to contribute to this very worthy cause, don’t worry, you can do so. There are corporate sponsorship opportunities from just £350" said Stephen Khan one of the other organisers of the White Hat Rally.
