Crisis Control is the latest in a series of significant developments for Hack The Box since its successful $55M Series B funding round in January 2023.
London, UK and New York, US: Cyber Performance Center, Hack The Box, has launched Crisis Control, an innovative AI-powered engagement that transforms TTXs into dynamic, real-time breach and crisis simulations for global teams. The launch is the latest in a series of positive business developments since a successful $55M series B funding round led by Carlyle in January 2023, which has seen platform membership and product use soar.
Global security threats continue to accelerate, both in volume and complexity, and Hack The Box has been responding to industry demands by growing its comprehensive portfolio of products, platforms, and certifications to improve cybersecurity upskilling, performance, and preparedness. Since the funding round, Hack The Box has introduced new learning experiences addressing all cybersecurity domains, including blue as well as purple security operations, helping bridge the gap between red and blue teams, and enhancing professionals' skills in both defensive and offensive techniques, as well as purple mindset.
The launch of Crisis Control responds to the growing demand for practical crisis preparation solutions. While traditional tabletop exercises lack realism, intensity and aren’t tailored to the business need, Crisis Control represents the next iteration of in-person tabletop exercises, coupling AI with Hack The Box’s expert knowledge, to deliver highly realistic scenarios that challenge senior management and front-line professionals.
Haris Pylarinos, CEO and Founder at Hack The Box, said: “Hack The Box is a company that proactively responds to industry demand. We empower organizations to build resilient and high-performing teams that are ready for the current threat landscape. The growth of our business demonstrates how the businesses are looking for support in cybersecurity and upskilling their teams to protect their assets."
Expanding User Base and Platform Adoption
Since January 2023, Hack The Box has seen its platform membership soar by 50% to over 3 million users worldwide, highlighting the level of demand for high-quality cybersecurity upskilling and simulation tools to improve preparedness.
The company has also experienced a significant increase in demand for many of its core product offerings. Hack The Box’s Enterprise Platform, the all-in-one business solution for cyber workforce development, has experienced a 351% user growth since 2023 demonstrating the volume of large businesses looking to upskill their workforce and build greater cyber resilience.
Loyal to its innovative 360º Cyber Performance Center business model, Hack The Box empowers organizations to make cybersecurity a company-wide goal - with processes and exercises mapped to wider cybersecurity and business outcomes.
New Product and Certification Offerings
In response to continually evolving industry needs, Hack The Box has been at the forefront of the development of new product and platform offerings. This has been specifically to create a better understanding of the application of emerging technologies, including AI and ML, in cybersecurity defense, as well as stronger integration between red and blue teams.
In collaboration with Dragos, Hack The Box launched Alchemy - a new first-of-its-kind Professional Lab scenario offered by Hack The Box, designed to simulate an industrial control system (ICS) environment for cybersecurity upskilling. Alchemy is the first ICS/OT penetration testing challenge, providing a secure, simulated environment for cybersecurity professionals to the skills they need to address growing threats to critical infrastructure and industrial systems.
Haris Pylarinos further said: “Developing a healthy security culture requires organisations to implement cybersecurity readiness as a business priority. Hack The Box has experienced a fantastic level of business growth since we announced our Series B results, which is a testament to both the usefulness of the offerings we are providing to the industry, but equally the demand for upskilling in order to create a robust cybersecurity strategy. We’re excited to see this growth continue following the launch of Crisis Control today.”
Last month, Hack The Box was selected as the winner of the “Cybersecurity Certification Innovation Award” in the 8th annual CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards program conducted by CyberSecurity Breakthrough for a series of industry certifications that offer hands-on upskilling and assessment to validate skills in both offensive and defensive cybersecurity, equipping corporate security and IT teams to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and align their expertise with business objectives.
