Vigilance can authoritatively report that starting from 1st of August, 2011 the National Open College Network (NOCN) began a new service aimed at supporting the Security Industry, including all associated functions, after a long standing partnership with Skills for Security.
The Vigilance Editorial team gathered that NOCN has now, seamlessly, taken over all aspects of developing and awarding licence linked and non-linked security industry qualifications.
Additionally, they have taken the opportunity to improve and widen the services delivered to centres. These include an easy to use on-line examinations/assessment service as well as web-based services which for example allows centres to download examination papers from the website. e-Portfolio services are also being developed.
Also, NOCN’s support now covers training programme accreditation and awards for both security industry and related functions. They cover a broad range of certification beyond the traditional NQF and QCF including apprenticeships, diplomas and employer developed and assessed courses.
NOCN is one of the longest standing providers to the Security Industry, with many years of experience.
