Stoke-on-Trent based IT security company, Hedgehog Security, has appointed Daryl Tavernor as its new Marketing Manager. The move represents an important step towards integrating its marketing activities and educating clients regarding data and physical security issues.
Tavernor will be coordinating efforts to raise awareness regarding potential security threats which jeopardise businesses, with the purpose of decreasing the risk of system penetration and security breaches.
After obtaining an undergraduate degree in Music Technology and Management from Staffordshire University, Tavernor has moved on to study a Masters degree in Marketing Communication at Manchester Metropolitan University. His thesis explored the brand dimensions of music artists.
Tavernor has relevant marketing experience obtained in a variety of roles. His collaborations with Kerrang Radio, Souter PR and Revolver Records, where he worked closely with managing director Paul Birch, have given him high level marketing insight and a strategic approach to communications.
“Tavernor is a strong supporter of our company's belief that the optimal way to achieve the highest data security level is by educating individuals with businesses," said Peter Bassill, Hedgehog Security's CEO. "The range of methods and technologies currently available for breaching security systems is overwhelming. This is why we strongly advise businesses to perform penetration tests, to secure information assets,” he concluded.
Founded in 2010, Hedgehog Security is the UK's leading independent information and physical security consultancy. The company works with each of its clients to identify their individual needs and bespoke solutions.
Hedgehog Security delivers effective and cost realistic social engineering, as well as penetration testing. It has worked with clients including the European Commission, the NHS, The Times, WH Management Group, Northcott Global Solutions and Petroleum Research.
