“In reality, and as a matter of serious fact, no State in Nigeria produces oil, but Nigeria as a nation does! Not having the courage to tell all those from the South South of the country who like to pride themselves as those who produce the oil this UTMOST WORD OF TRUTH has been the causes of some of the nation’s problems."
“Finally, we disagree with Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika, the Chief of Army Staff that the strategies of Boko Harram are unpredictable, if anything their methods are highly predictable. This unfortunate utterance from a General is what gives Boko Haram their strength and power. If by now, the President and his so-called strategists do not know who the REAL Boko Harams are and go after them, he MUST resign immediately.”
As the poor man’s number one enemy, Mr Telephone-is-not-4-de-poor, who likes to call himself David Mark, the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is busy thinking of presenting another obscene car to the next newlyweds, Nigerian security agents, ignorant of their job specifications as contained in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have converted public spaces into boxing arenas slugging it out almost on daily basis with themselves in a manner reminiscent of “If you Daboh me, I’ll Tarka you.”
Perhaps, David Mark and chubby-cheeks-boy-looking Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Speaker of the House of Representatives need to be given copies of the Nigerian Constitution to read before they realise it is their statutory responsibility to summon all security chiefs in Nigeria to the Legislative Dome to answer a few questions over their unbecoming demeanour of openly fighting in the public over money and who is in charge when they ALL should be working together as a team in times of grave threats to national security.
Hang on a minute! If the President of Otuoke and CAN’s President - at -Large, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has blazed the trail by putting his thugs, the Niger Delta rogues in charge of Nigeria’s critical infrastructure, such as the oil pipelines in the name of protecting them, what do you expect thugs in uniform to do? Say WELL DONE to the police whom they deemed had invaded their territory? No! And to show who was in charge, they had to turn themselves to Mike Tyson and beat hell out of the intruders for daring to invade their ‘country.’ Glimpses of what will happen when each State has their own Olopa (police), huh?
Well, the police have given their version of the story as below, but all parties need a fair hearing, hence the Presidency, the Apex Legislative Assembly need to wade into this matter and dig deeper beyond this current incident and many others that had occurred previously and determine the causes of such frequent clashes amongst the nation’s security agents and possibly offer lasting solutions.
Whilst we await the Apex Legislative body to act promptly, we dare say, everybody, Boko Haram, their home financiers that the Presidency knows too well, but lacks the needed will to arrest and prosecute them, their external financiers from the Moslem nations, kidnappers, failed politicians who now take delight in sponsoring violence, all other Nigerians who have taken the laws into their hands causing violence and killing their compatriots together with security personnel struggling for filthy lucre and power amongst themselves, are all taking advantage of the leadership vacuum - the yawning chasm resulting in a situation of zero leadership in Nigeria.
As a matter of urgency, the Apex Legislative Assembly MUST summon a joint meeting of the two Houses immediately and legislate that all civilian contractors guarding the nation’s critical infrastructure, the oil pipelines especially, MUST hands off immediately and be replaced by the armed forces. And henceforth, ONLY the Army, the Air Force and the Navy MUST be the security agencies guarding the nation’s oil pipelines devoid of any enthnic/regional arrangement in the guise of the Niger Delta militants claiming sole ownership of a national common.
In reality, and as a matter of serious fact, no State in Nigeria produces oil, but Nigeria as a nation does! Not having the courage to tell all those from the South South of the country who like to pride themselves as those who produce the oil this UTMOST WORD OF TRUTH has been the causes of some of the nation’s problems.
The Nigerian Civil Defence Corps as a matter of urgency MUST be merged with the police as a unit under it to be known and called Order Enforcement and Crime Prevention Corps (OECPC). Detailed editorial on this will come shortly. It’s sheer waste of resources, manpower, and duplication of functions which has been one of the reasons for the power struggle to have all sorts of para-military outfits at the centre and at States level, and maybe local government level too.
Also, all para-military outfits created by States MUST be scrapped immediately; these are State Police in disguise!
What is more, all these funny creations only widen the territory of corruption in Nigeria, and at best, they are a way of creating jobs for the boys and girls. Their only noticeable roles are to terrorise political opponents and antagonise/ fight federal officers for supremacy.
All security chiefs and personnel must be given copies of the constitution immediately and to journalists too.
We hereby warn that the President meeting with security chiefs this week MUST not make the mistake of granting Boko Haram any goddamned amnesty as their obvious financiers, supporters and sympathisers are canvassing.
Finally, we disagree with Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika, the Chief of Army Staff that the strategies of Boko Harram are unpredictable, if anything their methods are highly predictable. This unfortunate utterance from a General is what gives Boko Haram their strength and power. If by now, the President and his so-called strategists do not know who the REAL Boko Harams are and go after them, he MUST resign immediately.
All the other good- for- nothing Generals, both serving and retired, should hang their heads in shame for not displaying loyalty, patriotism and solidarity in the face of severe threats to national security.
Again and again, we have advocated the meeting of all past Heads of State and Presidents including, military officers, serving and retired together with traditional rulers and other leaders of thought over these threats to national security that have continued for so long, but they all think it’s President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s cup of tea, hence the blame game mantra.
Henceforth, ALL forms of threat to national security MUST be seen by ALL Nigerians as a COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY! Where a people work together as ONE, crushing a band of miscreants like Boko Haram is a 12-hour Operation, and we still believe it to be so.
Already, Boko, Ansaru and many, many, other DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH that abound ALL over Nigeria have already internationalised and the vision they are ALL now pursuing is not about BREAD AND BUTTER or their own share of the national cake, but that of the GLOBAL JIHAD.
So if the President grants Boko and Ansaru amnesty, will he grant the international jihadists amnesty too?
Common sense requires first, identify their financiers who are all talking from palaces, from the hills, desert, savannah, mountain tops, valleys, hotel rooms, mosques, barracks, National Assembly, State Houses, Government Houses, etc, arrest them, prosecute, send them to life in prison and make them lose their citizenship, and cease diplomatic relationships with their external funders.
Please standby for details!!!!
****Below is the police version of the recent power struggle between their officers and other security personnel in Lagos, Nigeria.
BY DCP NGOZI BRAIDE, POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER, LAGOS STATE COMMAND
Attack on Inspr Sunday Gabriel and Team on Anti Pipeline Duties by Men of the National Security and the Civil Defence Corp at Konu Lagos
The Lagos State Command wishes to use this medium to put the record straight on what actually transpired at Isawo-Ikorodu at early hours of today 27/3/2013 between the NSCDC and the Police.
At about 0145hrs of date, there was a distress call from DM security PPMC, Mosimi that they were experiencing drop in pressure on the pipeline. The Unit Commander in charge of Konu immediately pulled out his men on Konu axis under Inspr Sunday Gabriel to proceed to the scene.
As they were approaching, they heard sound of serious gun firing in their area of pipeline coverage and the Inspr instructed his men to proceed to that direction as it could be the activities of vandals. Upon arrival, they saw a group of Civil Defence Corp Members coming out from the direction where the shooting was earlier heard. The NSCDC men challenged the Policemen who were about four in number on what their mission was in the area; “saying that it was their sole responsibility (Civil Defence) to guide and protect pipelines”.
At this juncture there was an argument between the NSCDC and the Police and the most senior NSCDC officer DSC Olufemi ordered his men who were about fourteen (14) in number to disarm, arrest and handcuff the Police team leader and three other members of his team. The NSCDC succeeded in disarming the Police team leader Inspr Sunday Gabriel, handcuffed him, collected his service pistol, walkie-talkie, and Police I.D card. As they were about dragging him into one of their standby hilux vehicles, a phone call was put to the Police Unit Commander reporting the situation. The 3 other officers resisted the arrest and this infuriated Civil Defence Officials who started shooting sporadically to intimidate and subdue the Police officers.
Before the Police Commander could arrive the scene, the NSCDC officials had taken to their heels abandoning the handcuffed and leg chained Police Inspector with one of NSCDC personnel.
Therefore, it was shocking that at about 0400hrs, the Civil Defence Corp Commander called the Police Commander Mosimi to say that he lost two of his men and their corpses have been deposited at the hospital. Uptil now, the pistol of Inspr Sunday Gabriel who was badly beaten and stabbed by the NSCDC officials including his other accoutrements are still with NSCDC.
Subsequently, far away in Alausa, Ikeja, at about 0800hrs today, the NSCDC officials abducted and assaulted three Policemen namely: Sgt Charles Igiebor, Cpl Ekun Julius and Cpl Okoro Charles who went for National I.D Card registration exercise. They also started attacking Policemen on sight in other parts of the State.
The Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command immediately went on air to warn Policemen not to engage in any form of confrontation by the armed forceswith the NSCDC officials.
However investigation into the matter has commenced while Lagosians are advised to maintain peace and remain calm, please.
