Vigilance can authoritatively confirm that the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has granted Trade Fair Certification to Reed Exhibitions for InfoSecurity Europe 2011 to be held at Earl’s Court in London, United Kingdom on April 19-21, 2011.
In a letter supporting the event, U.S. President, Barack Obama wrote: “By opening new markets and promoting trade, we are creating new sales channels for U.S. products and services. The business relationships developed at this trade show will help increase economic growth and create jobs throughout the United States.”
“The U.S. Commercial Service, based at the American Embassy in London, is pleased to work with Reed Exhibitions to support U.S. exhibitors at Infosecurity Europe 2011,” said Andy Williams, International Trade Advisor for the IT Security sector. “Infosecurity Europe is the single most important trade event for U.S. companies seeking to promote themselves to the UK IT security market. We look forward to working with our global partners, Reed Exhibitions to provide support and guidance to U.S. exhibitors at INFOSEC 2011. Using our local market knowledge and extensive network of industry contacts, we help U.S. exporters raise their visibility and accelerate sales in the UK.”
John Tate, VP Systematic Development Group agrees: “Being in the U.S. Pavilion helped us to meet with existing customers and to make contact with new potential customers, enabling us to establish a foothold in the EMEA market. Infosecurity Europe 2010 has been a phenomenal showcase for us.”
Expressing her joy, Claire Sellick, Event Director for Infosecurity Europe enthused: “We are delighted that Infosecurity Europe has been recognised as the premier information security event by the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) and it is great to have their support. Over the years I have seen hundreds of US companies use Infosecurity as the premier gateway to successfully launch into the European market place. As the size of their stand has grown so has the success of their European business. Companies often start with a small presence, and then go on to set up a small network and then go on to set up an office in the UK to manage their extensive European operations.”
Sellick said further: “We are honoured that Tom Cellucci of the Department of Homeland Security has agreed to speak in the keynote programme at Infosecurity Europe 2011. He joins a long
tradition of high level speakers from the U.S. At the 2010 event we had the Director and Chief Economist of the US Cyber Consequences Unit speaking as one of our keynotes.”
“The U.S. Commercial Service provides a great service to us…they’ve introduced us to partners and helped expand our business in the UK and Ireland,” revealed Gary Palgon, VP, NuBridges, Atlanta, GA.
Recounting their experience at Infosecurity Europe 2010, David Sutton, Vice President, Marketing, NuBridges said: “Infosecurity Europe was very active for NuBridges. We have seen masses of high quality press, analysts, potential customers and partners. Many of our existing clients also visited our stand which has helped us build on existing relationships. One of our announcements last week was with our client Debenhams who we have been working with on an implementation to secure customer credit card numbers and comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which has been very successful and we look forward to building on this capability with other firms in the UK.”
John Wood – Sales Director, Fortify Software, remembers: “For the last 4 years we’ve been at Infosecurity and this year the quality of the visitors has exceeded all the previous years. In fact, as the show opened on the first day we were approached by a new customer looking to do business with us there and then and it’s continued like this for 3 full days.”
Scott Borg, Director and Chief Economist, US Cyber Consequences Unit testifies: "Infosecurity Europe has become a truly transatlantic event. It's a great forum for sharing ideas with colleagues from Britain and America, who face similar problems, but have different insights into how to tackle them."
Organised by Reed Exhibitions, the world’s largest trade show organisers, Infosecurity Europe is one of five Infosecurity events around the world with events also running in Belgium, Netherlands and Russia. Infosecurity Europe will hold between the 19th and 21st of April 2011, at Earl’s Court in London.
Boasting of over 300 exhibitors, it is Europe’s number one information security event and the most comprehensive convergence of information security professionals. The 2011 event will be the 16th and in 2010 it attracted over 12,400 qualified professional attendees.
It showcases the most diverse range of new and innovative products and services on the market today and addresses today’s IT strategic and technical issues in an unrivalled educational programme. It is the meeting place for the entire industry, bringing together suppliers, active buyers, distributors, and the media.
The U.S. Department of Commerce estimates that the UK ICT market value is currently $150 billion. In addition, the UK government is the single largest buyer of ICT solutions in Europe. This is the result of a major trend towards IT and business process outsourcing in the public sector.
InfoSecurity Europe 2011 has the support of the U.S. Commercial Service in the United States and in the UK, which recognizes the capability and exhibition experience of the organizers of the U.S. Pavilion, Reed Exhibitions, and the potential of this market for U.S. industry exports. U.S. Pavilion participants are provided with an excellent venue to establish or expand overseas distribution, generate sales leads, identify licensing and joint venture partners, find new customers, meet with existing clients, introduce new products, assess the needs of the European market, and evaluate competitors. U.S. Commercial Service staff from the U.S. embassy in London will render on-site assistance to U.S. exhibitors.
