IN its efforts to step up security at its prestigious venue, the management of ExCel London has appointed International Consultants on Targeted Security (ICTS UK) Ltd as ‘Approved Provider’ to deliver the complete range of canine support services for all security sensitive events and routine protective services.
Commenting on the much prized partnership, Mr John Franklin-Webb ICTS’s spokesperson said: “It makes perfect sense for ICTS to establish a central London based canine facility in partnership with ExCel London in Docklands. Our full range of canine services is currently available from our Oxford base and from our national network.”
Franklin-Webb enthused: “The establishment of a London operational base will enhance our capability and reach in delivering an enhanced locally based service from within the M25 to existing and future clients in and around central London. The use of specialist canines is a proven method of locating explosives, firearms, contraband and drugs beyond the capability of technology.”
As a way of complimenting the traditional deployment of specialist canines, the ICTSRASCargO system provides a fast and efficient air sampling screening process to check cargo for explosives which is either too large or dense to be cleared by current x-ray screening methods.
In the UK, the programme provides services to airports and cargo hubs around the country, regulated by the Department for Transport and monitored by the Defence Science Technology Laboratory in the maintenance of exacting standards.
Also, ICTS has used the method to establish canine operations in France, Holland, Israel, Singapore and South Africa clearing a wide range of types of transport, vessels, aircraft, vehicles and cargo.
ICTS is a recognised industry leader in the provision of fully integrated security services, in particular, in the design and implementation of security solutions for airports with offices in 26 countries. ICTS is responsible for the safeguarding of life, assets and property against terrorist attack, intrusion, theft and sabotage with a unique combination of operational deployments supported by electronic systems.
