Vigilance can authoritatively report that Future Fibre Technologies (FFT), the world leader in fiber optic intrusion detection, working with their exclusive in-country agent AYA International, have today signed a contract to protect 500 kilometers (310 miles) of buried pipeline in Iraq.
According to an FFT source, the company and AYA International will be working in conjunction with ZTE Corporation, the prime contractor for the pipeline security and communications.
The source told Vigilance this is the first FFT pipeline security system installed in Iraq, meeting all of the current design and performance specifications, plus providing a cost-effective path for expansion in the future.
This latest win it said builds on FFT’s impressive record of success and global experience in protecting buried oil and gas pipelines against both deliberate and accidental damage.
The client recognised the advantages of the FFT fiber optic security solutions, and FFT's global experience. The solution benefits include a simple to understand and use operator interface, ability to operate in harsh environments, flexibility in overall design, and local technical support capability through AYA International.
