Leading publicly quoted Club and Bar Operator, Luminar Holdings Plc has appointed ICTS’ Canine Division to provide drug prevention and detection services to support their commitment to the safety and security of staff, customers and members of the public within their social responsibility commitment.
Luminar own the brands Oceana, Liquid, Lava & Ignite, Life & Jam House and are a nationwide operator serving the night economy in towns and cities throughout the UK. The Luminar policy is to deter and prevent drug misuse and associated crime in or around their premises and the deployment of ICTS teams is an important element of the programme. This non- threatening activity is designed to send a positive message to the public at large that Luminar is a responsible operator.
Gill Mansbridge, Luminar’s Senior Investigations and Recovery Manager, said, “We have a long standing relationship with John Franklin‐Webb and his canine teams going back to 1997 when the Public Entertainments Licence (Drug Misuse ) Act came into being. At that time we felt that we needed to put effective measures in place and the assistance we were given allowed us to partner the provider and develop the concept and protocols which have proved most effective and considered as best practice. The format has changed over the years and we now have an up to date appropriate response to the issue of drug misuse which ICTS have demonstrated they can fulfil.”
John Franklin‐Webb said, “Luminar is a responsible operator and it is a pleasure to be working in partnership with them once again. Since the inception of the programme we now work directly for the Police Force, some major brands in industry and also universities, colleges and schools which I believe demonstrates our ability to operate in a number of roles from enforcement, education and deterrence along with our extensive experience in drug related matters. All of which we bring to Luminar in support of their social responsibility commitments as professional operators.”
ICTS Canine Division will be operating nationally for Luminar and other high street brands throughout 2011 and 2012 as Associate Members of the BII (British Institute of Innkeeping) ICM (Institute Of Conflict Management) and active in National PubWatch & Bar Watches. All ICTS Canine Services personnel are SIA Qualified to Door Supervisor level. Other drug related services include drug awareness briefings and guidance on policy.
