Boursorama clients are able to download Trusteer Rapport, at no cost, to enhance the security level of their browsing sessions and protect their PC from malware (Zeus, Silon, Torpig and Yaludle for example). Trusteer Rapport locks down the browser and creates a safe tunnel of communication between Boursorama and its clients hence preventing fraud. A light-weight security software that downloads onto the customer’s computer in minutes, Trusteer Rapport does not require any change in client behaviour.
Although Boursorama’s initiative is new in France, Trusteer Rapport is used by more than 75 financial institutions in the world and more than 16 million customers.
Pierre Blanchier, Chief Security Information Officer for Boursorama Bank states: “Rather than adopting a wait and see attitude towards potential threats, Boursorama is taking a pro-active approach by offering to its clients a state-of-the-art tool to protect their PC. The overall goal is to keep a high level of client satisfaction and improve Boursorama’s ability to operate in an ever-changing Internet world.”
Mickey Boodaei CEO of Trusteer adds: “Boursorama Bank is already considered a trailblazer in France, and for everyone’s sake we hope this latest paradigm mind shift is embraced. Rather than further complicating the process, we’ve designed Trusteer Rapport to work transparently so that customers will not even realise they are blocking fraudsters out of their online sessions. Working together as a team – financial institutions, the general public and security professionals alike, we can prevent criminals stealing money and credentials and effectively cut off the supply chain. That has to be applauded.
