Redwood City, CA and Reading, UK: IGEL Technology, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of thin clients, and DigitalPersona, Inc., a trusted partner for biometric identity verification solutions, have announced they have integrated their technologies to allow the use of fingerprint biometrics as an authentication credential to virtual applications hosted on a Citrix XenApp server.
IGEL Linux now supports the management of users’ credentials on Citrix XenApp servers with DigitalPersona® Pro Enterprise v5.3 and v5.4 authentication software on all x86 based IGEL UD2, UD3, UD5 and UD9 devices. The use of DigitalPersona U.are.U® 4500 Fingerprint Readers connected through a USB drive to IGEL thin clients provides roaming workforces with a secure and speedy form of authentication when accessing virtual desktops.
“DigitalPersona’s fingerprint biometrics solution provides our customers with a highly secure form of authentication,” says Matthias Haas, product manager at IGEL. “Users are able to roam and access virtual desktops with the touch of their finger.”
Thousands of organizations across multiple industries worldwide rely on DigitalPersona to create and manage digital identities. Fingerprint biometrics ensure that only authorized persons are granted access to systems, data and applications thereby increasing security and simplifying compliance.
