Today Parsec Systems presented a cheque for £5,000 to Enham, a charity that runs independence programmes for disabled people. Enham was chosen by Parsec because of their focus on providing support to enable disabled and disadvantaged people to get into work or start their own businesses.
Enham was founded in 1919 and has helped in the region of 250,000 disabled people to enjoy a better quality of life, greater employment opportunities and live more independently. Enham offers a range of services that enable people with physical and sensory impairments, learning disabilities and disabled and disadvantaged young adults to have choice and control in their lives. Parsec’s donation is being used to provide tailored coaching and training support to enable people to take advantage of employment opportunities.
‘We are delighted with this wonderful support from Parsec Systems. Enham provides a range of services to enable disabled people to gain the skills and knowledge to enter and remain in employment. People with disabilities often face barriers that prevent them from realising their true potential. That is why this assistance from Parsec is so important. At Enham our services and plans continue to develop. At the same time, pressure on funding continues to increase making support such as this more important than ever’ said Jill Livingstone, Enham’s Major Partnership Manager.
UK based Solutions Developer Parsec was founded in 2007 by Paul Field and has worked on a range of highly complex projects for major clients within Financial services and Logistics. The firm is also called upon as an outside “fire-fighter” to help bring rogue projects back on track or to provide independent guidance in extremely specialist or complex areas around business process logic design and large systems integration.
“I found out about Enham after being introduced to one of their trustees,” comments Paul Field, Managing Director and Founder of Parsec Systems, “My sister suffered severe brain damage after she was born and that has presented her with all kinds of challenges growing up. I learned just how important work is for a people with disabilities. It gives independence, acceptance, a routine and goals. It's very rewarding. I also realised just how difficult it is for people with disabilities to find work.’
“Enham appeal to me because they recognise the same values I do. They focus on entrepreneurship which as a business owner is something I feel should be accessible to everyone. It's what makes the economy strong,” comments Field.
