London, UK: Corero Network Security (LSE: CNS), a leading provider of First Line of Defense® security solutions against DDoS attacks, today confirmed it is backing the UK’s Security Serious initiative. Over 50 of the world’s most renowned experts in cyber-crime and security have committed to offering their time and expertise for free to others who want to become more security savvy and cyber-aware.

Adding its support, Corero is to host an online presentation on the topic of: “The Evolution of DDoS Protection: A Sophisticated Approach to DDoS Defense”, scheduled to take place on Tuesday 27th October at 2pm. The talk will outline the changing nature of DDoS attacks in recent years and how organizations can effectively defend against them.

According to Corero’s latest Trends and Analysis report, DDoS attacks have risen by almost a third (32%) over the last quarter. Analyzing customer data, Corero found that attackers are continuing to leverage sub-saturating DDoS attacks with increasing frequency, using shorter attack durations to evade legacy cloud DDoS scrubbing solutions to cause network disruptions and, in some cases, distract victims while other malware infiltrates networks and steals customer information and corporate data.
