Earlier this year, the European Commission announced a comprehensive review of the EU’s 1995 data protection rules to strengthen online privacy rights in a bid to boost Europe’s digital economy. Whether this goal will be achieved remains to be seen but, regardless of what it eventually decrees, increased privacy rights will be a given. While we wait to find out what the actual changes will be, organizations must act now to stay ahead of the game.

As a concept it works fantastically – instead of having a pool of company owned cars, employees are given an allowance to offset against their own vehicle. Genius!

In Google Chrome's most recent version (v19), Google introduced a "tab sync" feature. Imperva's Application Defence Centre (ADC) has inspected this feature from a security perspective and has discovered a new type of threat that can allow a hacker to comfortably "leap" from a compromised home computer to work computer. Imperva has named this kind of threat BYOB for "Bring Your Own Browser".  Below are Imperva's ADC's findings.

Professor Vernon Gibson The Ministry of Defence last week appointed a new Chief Scientific Adviser to oversee its science and technology programme, to ensure battle-winning technology across Defence.

Professor Vernon Gibson replaces the outgoing Chief Scientific Adviser Professor Sir Mark Welland, who returns to Cambridge University to take up an academic post.
