Technologies that aim to enhance our space-based defence surveillance capabilities, improve the performance of computers in space and deliver sovereign production of communication systems are among projects funded under a landmark new program.
The NSW Space Research Network (SRN) will fund seven projects through its first
Research Pilot Program, with two additional projects receiving seed funding. Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology Alister Henskens said NSW already has an incredible depth of talent in the space industry and this investment will accelerate local R&D opportunities.

MANCHESTER, UK: The number of UK organisations implementing data encryption as a core part of their cybersecurity strategy has continued to rise, with 32% introducing a policy to encrypt all corporate information as standard in the last year. In total, almost half (47%) of organisations now require the encryption of all data, whether it’s at rest or in transit. This is according to an annual survey of IT decision makers carried out by Apricorn, the leading manufacturer of software-free, 256-bit AES XTS hardware-encrypted USB drives.

Major supplier Amberstone Security is the first intelligence and security services provider in the world to offer PACKED, a new fraud prevention solution that gives online retailers video proof that items have been packed and dispatched, helping to tackle loss prevention and increase transparency of the dispatch process.
The pandemic and the resulting boom in online ordering prompted a dramatic rise in false claims of items being undelivered. At the end of 2020, a survey of 3000 UK and US consumers by Signifyd, found that 30% of those questioned had claimed that an order hadn’t arrived when in fact it had. At the beginning of the same year – prior to the pandemic taking hold – only 8.1% of consumers admitted to making such false claims.
