British troops have arrived in Mali to assist in the training of its military as part of a European Union Training Mission, Vigilance can confirm. The deployment of UK personnel, promised by the Secretary of State for Defence in February, forms part of the EU mission to develop the infantry and artillery skills of the Malian armed forces currently combating extremists in the West African country.
