Industry survey reveals SIEM doesn't reduce security incidents

Netwrix survey of 800 IT professional shows that most organisations don’t audit their IT infrastructures and those that do don’t have complete details of who changed what, when, and where

In a survey of 800 IT professionals working for companies of all sizes involved in more than 30 industries, 74% of IT professionals who have deployed a SIEM solution say that it didn’t have significant impact on security incidents. The results of the Netwrix 2014 SIEM Efficiency Survey Report also reveal that the majority of IT pros who have a SIEM solution agreed that, when it comes to auditing changes, SIEM has noise, gaps in audited data and hard-to-read change auditing reports.

Feature-length documentary of record-breaking challenge to premiere in London

The London premiere of ‘As The Crow Flies’ – a feature-length documentary of the Beeline Britain challenge – will be shown at the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington, London on Friday 28 November.

The incredible voyage that saw the team of four navigate the length of Britain – from Land’s End to John O‘Groats – in a straight line was a world first and took around four weeks to complete. It involved kayaking, hiking and cycling and included a 34-hour 200km non-stop kayak from Land’s End to Pembrokeshire.
