Experts will soon gather in Paris for the annual UN Climate Change Conference to discuss how to cut carbon emissions and halt temperature rises, but the principal contributor is likely to be left off the agenda. Environmental NGOs dare not discuss it, nor do policy makers.

The identity of this climate culprit shielded from scrutiny? Animal agriculture – the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption, species extinction, habitat loss, ocean dead zones and pollution, responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all transport in the world combined.

Tripwire releases IP Expo survey on supply chain cyber security

Only 53 percent of organisations require cybersecurity audits for business partners

LONDON: Tripwire, Inc. has announced the results of a survey of 160 attendees at the IP EXPO Europe conference in London.

According to Tripwire’s survey, 63 percent of the respondents said their organisation would refuse to use partners and suppliers that failed to meet their IT security standards. Despite these concerns, only 53 percent of the respondents require partners and suppliers to pass security audits.

Additional survey findings included:

62 percent of the respondents said they are required to meet their customers’ security standards, and 63 percent believe their customers would lose confidence in them if one of them suffered a serious data breach.

German Gov prepares security standards for consumer routers

The German Government is contemplating an assessment of the security of consumer routers in a bid to lift current abysmal standards and help inform buyers.

Berlin's Ministry of the Interior IT security office says it wants to test routers for support of security features like WPS, encryption, and brute force protection of passwords. MAC address filtering and firewalls will also make the list.
