Basingstoke (UK): Research-led cyber security company, MWR InfoSecurity, today confirmed it is one of 15 new members added to Tech City UK’s Future Fifty programme which showcases and supports 50 of the UK’s leading growth stage digital companies. The latest intake were identified by a prestigious judging panel as some of the UK’s highest potential digital businesses for rapid, global expansion.
Hacker group, Phantom Squad, have tweeted threats to bring down Xbox and Playstation this Christmas using Distributed Denial of Service Attacks. The hackers have already claimed responsibility for other outages on the gaming platforms earlier this year, as well as a recent Reddit outage.

Tyler Reguly, Manager of Software Development at Tripwire explains: “DDoS attacks, like the one being threatened by Phantom Squad, are difficult for any service provider to deal with, regardless of their size. While the blame rests clearly on the attackers, there are things network operators can do to protect themselves.
Best Current Practice 38 (BCP38) describes a technique, ingress filtering, which would prevent the most common DDoS attacks (e.g. spoofed source addresses in UDP Amplification attacks). Unfortunately, not all service providers are willing to implement ingress filtering, which leaves the Internet open to these types of attacks.
Oldham-based motorcycle club Road Wizards have handed a cheque to Blesma, The Limbless Veterans for £10,000 following a series of fundraising events.
The Club raised the money through various events held throughout 2015, including the club’s Annual Charity Bike Show, Halloween parties, a raffle and a 10k run.
Blesma was chosen as a beneficiary charity when Club Secretary Sharon McDaid met a double amputee Blesma Member through her husband Ozzy after receiving some difficult medical news.

Host Card Emulation (HCE) simplifies Near Field Communication (NFC) implementation by eliminating the requirement of a Secure Element (SE) to store mobile payment applications.
