London, UK: SentinelOne announced the findings of a global survey on the business impact of ransomware, conducted by research firm Vanson Bourne. The survey of 500 businesses in the UK, US, France and Germany revealed that in the last 12 months, 48 per cent of organisations have fallen victim to a ransomware campaign, with 81 per cent indicating that they’ve suffered from three or more attacks.
CREST has announced that it is collaborating with the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) and the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) to deliver its high-level cybersecurity accreditations and examinations across Hong Kong from December 2016. CREST provides internationally recognised accreditation for organisations and individuals providing penetration testing, cyber incident response and threat intelligence services.

Hamburg, Germany: The German IT security specialist Secucloud is achieving significant growth with its cloud-based security solution for telcos. Over the last year, the company has won a large number of new customers, including renowned international providers like T-Mobile Netherlands. It has also recruited two experienced industry specialists to its management team: Renzo Pecoraro, a former executive director of Morgan Stanley, and the former E-POST CEO Mark Rees. In addition, Secucloud has almost doubled its workforce this year alone, so that its existing offices became too small for it. For this reason, Secucloud is moving into its new and significantly larger headquarters in the centre of Hamburg on 1st December.
