Verified Mark Certificates (VMCs), part of Google-driven Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) initiative, provide a visual trust indicator when Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC)-verified emails reach the inbox

(LEHI, Utah): – DigiCert, Inc. and PKI solutions have announced that it is now issuing Verified Mark Certificates, compliant with the BIMI standard and available for purchase at scale via DigiCert CertCentral®, DigiCert partners and at www.digicert.com. VMCs issued by DigiCert enable companies to add their trademarked logos to emails they send to their customers to increase recognition, open and engagement rates and brand impressions, while bringing greater trust and transparency to email via DMARC. Gmail now recognizes VMCs and displays company logos in the user's inbox.

New Modipwn vulnerability puts Schneider Electric PLCs in global organisations at risk to attacker takeover 

London, UK: Researchers at Armis have announced the discovery of an authentication bypass vulnerability in Schneider Electric’s Modicon programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that can lead to remote-code-execution (RCE). The vulnerability, dubbed Modipwn, allows for a complete takeover of impacted devices by leveraging the UMAS protocol, and impacts Modicon M340, M580 and other models from the Modicon series. Millions of devices use these PLCs and are now deemed to be at risk in what is considered to be a widescale vulnerability. Such controllers are used widely in manufacturing, building services, automation applications, energy utilities, HVAC systems to name a few.
