West Yorkshire’s high profile Violence Reduction Unit, which is part of the Mayoral Combined Authority and leads a number of partner organisations across the county to tackle violent crime, today announces the launch of a pioneering licensing initiative to improve the safety and security of bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants and hotels.

A total of 300 specially selected licensed premises across Bradford, Calderdale, Wakefield and Kirklees Metropolitan District Council areas are being invited to take part in the scheme, which encourages venues to improve their operational security and management practices year on year.

More than 60 per cent of employees believe backing up company data is not their problem 

MANCHESTER, UK.:  Apricorn has announced new findings from a Twitter poll exploring data backup and recovery processes. More than 50 per cent of respondents noted that they, or their employees, have experienced a loss of data as a result of not backing up, or a failed backup.

 A total of 2136 watched lesson aimed to spread and improve security awareness during Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October   

 Security Serious 2021 run by Eskenzi PR and sponsored by leading cybersecurity companies KnowBe4 and OneLogin, has officially set the Guinness World Records title for the Most views of a cyber security lesson video on YouTube in 24 hours. The training lesson achieved 2136 views and was presented by security experts Javvad Malik, lead security awareness advocate at KnowBe4 and Niamh Muldoon, global data protection officer at OneLogin, on the 14th of October 2021 during Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Security Serious Week.

Almost half of companies not at all prepared for a data breach, according to Infosecurity Europe poll  

Richmond, Surrey, UK: : Half (49.9%) of respondents to a Twitter poll run by Infosecurity Europe, Europe’s number one information security event, believe that lack of awareness is the biggest security failing or cause of a data breach within their organisation. Employees feel this is having a significant impact on security posture, with 43% stating their organisation is ‘not at all prepared’ for a security breach. Almost a third (30.9%), however, do think their company is very well prepared, and a further 26.1% moderately well prepared. The poll was carried out to mark Cyber Security Awareness Month 2021, the theme of which is Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.
