Robots handled over 5m motorist requests in the last year, despite backlog of over 200,000 applicants with medical conditions

 The Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), the UK government department responsible for issuing driving licenses, collecting road tax, and keeping a database of vehicles, has seen customer interactions with its online chatbot service increase by nearly 1,000 per cent between the financial years, 2019-20 - just before the pandemic hit the UK - to the most recent financial year, FY 2021-22.

Last month, the US government’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released two significant warnings. The first of these detailed how APT Cyber Tools were reported to be targeting ICS/SCADA Devices, while the second warned of a specific type of Malware – namely, Pipedream – aimed at Industrial Control Systems.

These kinds of ominous directives from CISA relate directly to a recent Whitepaper from Cerberus Sentinel regarding the Water Sector, and Tackling IT-Security Fundamentals. The water sector has long been a target for hackers hoping to take advantage of the rapid digital transformation it has undertaken, with the water supply of Oldsmar in Florida suffering an attempted compromise from a hacker last year. With specific malwares and APT groups’ being mentioned by Federal agencies as real, credible and potentially nation-state tied threats to ICS, including the water sector, the white paper could not be more timely.

Vulnerabilities found in widely-used network switches could allow attackers to bypass security features such as network segmentation to gain access to critical systems

 

PALO ALTO, Calif.: Armis, the leading unified asset visibility and security platform, today announced the disclosure of five critical vulnerabilities, known as TLStorm 2.0, in the implementation of TLS communications in multiple models of network switches. The vulnerabilities stem from a similar design flaw identified in the TLStorm vulnerabilities (discovered earlier this year by Armis), expanding the reach of TLStorm to millions of additional enterprise-grade network infrastructure devices.
