Post-9/11: We are safer!

Write Attorney General, ERIC HOLDER, Secretary of Homeland Security, JANET NAPOLITANO and Director of National Intelligence, JAMES CLAPPER. But are we truly safer today? Reactions are welcome.

All of us who are old enough remember exactly where we were on September 11, 2001, at the moment we first learned that terrorists had taken control of commercial jetliners and crashed them into the World Trade Center in Manhattan, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, Pa.

9/11: THE ATTACK NEXT TIME

As we know from the intelligence gathered from the OBL raid, AQ has shown an interest in important dates and anniversaries, such as 9/11. In this instance, it’s accurate that there is specific, credible but unconfirmed threat information.

9/11: A press briefing

MS. NULAND: Good afternoon, everybody. I have a couple of announcements at the top, and then we’ll go to your questions.

First, tomorrow, Secretary Clinton will deliver remarks in New York at John Jay College of Criminal Justice on a smart-power approach to counterterrorism. This is in connection with the tenth anniversary of September 11^th, and Secretary will be taking stock of where we stand in the fight against al-Qaida now that bin Ladin is dead, and she will outline the Administration’s strategy going forward. She will make clear that we must keep up the pressure on al-Qaida and its network, and face down its murderous ideology. She’ll also underscore the need to use all of the tools at our – in our national arsenal to achieve this objective.

ISACA leader welcomes London City University's new Cyber and Security Sciences

ISACA leader Professor John Walker welcomes the creation of a new Centre for Cyber and Security Sciences at London City University, and says the centre will assist greatly in bolstering new influxes of security professionals to the IT industry.
