The Royal Navy was out in force on Sunday 3rd June with the Senior Service pulling out all the stops to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at the River Pageant.
The Cloud provides an alternative way of procuring IT services that offers many benefits, including increased flexibility as well as reduced cost. It extends the spectrum of IT service delivery models beyond managed and hosted services to a form that is packaged and commoditised. However, in a recent survey by global IT association ISACA, 30% of the 3,700 respondents said cloud computing is one of the top issues expected to impact their enterprise’s security in the next 12 months. Clearly, a good understanding of cloud is critical, as is effective governance over the cloud.

And stay there with a least privilege approach
Earlier this year, the European Commission announced a comprehensive review of the EU’s 1995 data protection rules to strengthen online privacy rights in a bid to boost Europe’s digital economy. Whether this goal will be achieved remains to be seen but, regardless of what it eventually decrees, increased privacy rights will be a given. While we wait to find out what the actual changes will be, organizations must act now to stay ahead of the game.
Employees have differing views when it comes to what they like - not every one wants a Volkswagen Golf, and many company car schemes take this into consideration. As a concept it works fantastically – instead of having a pool of company owned cars, employees are given an allowance to offset against their own vehicle. Genius!
