AdaptiveMobile reveal handset as source of problem
London: Vigilance can report that AdaptiveMobile, the world leader in mobile security has dispelled some of the myths regarding the recent iPhone SMS vulnerability which could allow scammers to ‘spoof’ the sender of a text message, allowing them to pose as a known friend or contact. Whilst mobile operators have recently come under fire for this exploit, AdaptiveMobile argues that the source of the problem is the handset, not the network.
Johannesburg: Payment security specialist Foregenix has announced the opening of its South African office, based in Johannesburg. The expansion follows significant growth in the company’s payment card industry customer base in the region and will be led by Foregenix director, Andrew Henwood.
London, UK: A recent survey conducted by the global nonprofit IT association ISACA found that - nearly one in four (22%) of the enterprises surveyed have experienced a security breach over the last 12 months and 21% have faced mobile device security issues. The survey also revealed that 17% of respondents thought that data leakages and inadvertent staff mistakes were key issues to be addressed, with 15% reporting cloud computing as another ”hot button” IT issue of concern.
