June 24th marks Armed Forces Day and It's My Magazine, the capturers of life stories, is keen to celebrate the achievements and sacrifices of our military personnel and their families; both here and abroad. There are currently 199,620 active UK Forces Service Personnel, many of whom are deployed. It's My Magazine are keen to boost morale and help the partners, parents and children left behind to bring a smile to their loved ones face like never before.

Toshiba and Becrypt in joint partnership to provide mobility solutions

Toshiba to ‘bundle’ Becrypt Security with its mobile devices to target key markets including Healthcare and Local Government

London, UK: Toshiba UK has signed an agreement with security supplier Becrypt as part of its strategy to enhance its hardware value-add proposition. Toshiba will sell Becrypt’s End Point Protection packaged with selected tablets and laptops. The joint solution, which harnesses the flexibility and usability of mobile technology will initially target the healthcare market where it will enable the secure handling of sensitive patient data whilst maintaining patient safety. The healthcare offering will bundle Toshiba’s Tecra Z40 Ultrabook™ and Portégé Z10t convertible Ultrabook™ with Becrypt’s encryption software.

Survey: 25 percent of breaches go undetected for more than 24 hours

LONDON, UK: Tripwire, Inc. has announced the results of a survey conducted by Atomic Research and sponsored by Tripwire of 102 financial organizations and 151 retail organizations in the U.K., all of which process card payments. The survey results indicate that recent data breaches have had little impact on the security controls of retail and financial organisations. Of those surveyed, 35 percent said it would take as long as two to three days to detect a breach on their systems and 44 percent admitted that their customer data could be better protected.

A course of events that has police chiefs and government ministers cursing a lowly police constable on a day in which they should have been bathing in the reflected glory of reduced crime figures is an event which probably won’t be repeated. The Metropolitan Police are clearly determined to crush whistleblower James Patrick in a way that serves as an example to other ‘junior’officers who might be tempted to break ranks and reveal malpractice within the Met.
