UCL (University College London) becomes first academic institution to undertake in-house life safety fire risk assessments underpinned by third party certification, Vigilance can report.

UCL has broken new ground by becoming the first University to be third party certificated to carry out Life Safety Fire Risk Assessments through the UK’s leading fire and security Certification Body, NSI.

Sandy, UT: Opengear has announced that Interactive Motion Technologies has successfully deployed Opengear’s remote management gateways to each of its internationally-located InMotion neurorehabilitation robots. Using Opengear’s solution, Interactive Motion has been able to perform remote maintenance of robots in hospitals all over the world from the company’s headquarters in Boston.

Vigilance can report that more than 800 Scottish jobs have been safeguarded thanks to a £348 million MoD contract to build three new Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) for the Royal Navy on the Clyde.

The vessels, which will be used by the Royal Navy to undertake various tasks in support of UK interests both at home and abroad, will be built at BAE Systems’ shipyards.
