17 April 2019: A new initiative to advance coordination among national critical communications operators has been launched with the formation of the International Governmental Operators’ Forum (IGOF). The inaugural conference took place in parallel with TCCA’s 2019 Critical Communications Europe event in Coventry, UK.

Old buildings are at their most vulnerable when undergoing repairs

Last year in the UK some 300 historic buildings were damaged by fires, with many occurring whilst undergoing renovations or repairs. There is an online national database of firesin heritage buildings that records all reported fires, and so far in 2019 they have 152 fires noted.

Home Office apologises for EU citizen data breach

The Home Office has apologised to hundreds of EU citizens seeking settled status in the UK after accidentally sharing their details.

It blamed an "administrative error" for sending an email that revealed 240 personal email addresses - a likely breach of the Data Protection Act.

The Home Office sent the email on Sunday 7 April asking applicants, who had already struggled with technical problems, to resubmit their information. But it failed to use the "blind CC" box on the email, revealing the details of other applicants.
