The first of the Navy’s five new patrol ships is ready for front-line action – as the third successfully completes her first spell at sea.
Reading University has chosen Revader Security’s Transit range of redeployable CCTV cameras for use in its world-renowned agricultural department.
The university uses Transit cameras to monitor and record groups of Holstein calves on their campus farm, to detect changes in behaviour as a direct result of various stimuli. Items such as broom heads, rubber teats, plastic chains and carefully positioned hay-bags are systematically included, removed and repositioned in the cattle pens. Calves are also segregated, paired or otherwise grouped periodically to detect any change in their behaviour due to social changes.
The Security Industry Authority is running a national campaign in June and July that aims to make the night-time economy a safer place for both security staff and people on nights out.
The campaign, which kicks off on Monday 17 June, will involve SIA investigators visiting pubs, bars, and clubs in towns and cities across the UK to meet door staff.
The SIA's focus is to promote safer restraint techniques to door supervisors, whilst encouraging them to report violence or abuse that's directed towards them. The SIA will be sharing posters and leaflets on social media throughout June and July under the hashtag #SaferNightsOut.
