Foreign Secretary William Hague last week at the Lord Mayor’s Banquet, Mansion House, spoke about Al Qaeda following Osama Bin Laden's death and what the Arab Spring means for undemocratic governments. In the speech, Hon Hague seems to be implying, together with her allies, Britain is ready to do battle against terrorists on land, on the mountain, over the hills and valleys. Since September 11, 1991 the world understandably, has been preoccupied with combating Al Qaeda and other blood-thirsty extremist elements hell-bent on making the world to live in perpetual fear, to the detriment of other threats to human community such as hunger terrorism, but in this speech, delivered last week in Rome, Italy during the Food and Agriculture Organisation’s Food Security Event, Secretary Clinton seems to be saying, whilst it is necessary to keep Al Qaeda running, we also need to bring food security back to the front burner: Happy reading!
