Vienna, Austria: IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano yesterday delivered a statement to the Agency's Board of Governors.
Mr Amano briefed Member States on nuclear verification issues in Iran, Syria and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. He also highlighted the achievements of the IAEA's Department of Technical Cooperation, which helps Member States use nuclear techniques to address important development challenges.
The Board, which meets five times a year at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna, Austria, is one of the IAEA's main policymaking bodies.
