The Farnborough Air Show attracts a large contingent of commercial aviation specialists, as well as thousands of families who enjoy spectacular flying displays as well as the attractions that the air show has to offer.
Security and safety during the July 2014 event was as always, a priority for the organisers, with an effective CCTV operation being essential. It needed to spot other potential issues, too: vehicle access and crowd movement; anything that may have impacted the comfort of the general public.
In charge of everything CCTV-related, Don Wetherell of Mobile CCTV Ltd is moving with the times supplementing analogue cameras with high-resolution digital imagery.
Meeting his client’s requirements for more detailed vision:
One of Don’s biggest concerns of the new technology, was the staff operating the cameras were more familiar with joystick control keyboards rather than a mouse which is the preferred option with IP related digital images.
Don Wetherell said: "The new IP technology really made a difference to the services that we were able to offer the Farnborough Air Show. In fact, we trialed both the "old" and "new" options and the Asgard product is definitely the way forward. As ever BBV’s customer service was second to none. It was a slick operation indeed"
