Rolling Meadows, IL, USA: Technology has a central role in enterprise success, and IT leaders are under pressure to drive revenue and provide a competitive advantage. ISACA, a non-profit association of 100,000 IT professionals worldwide, issued the COBIT 5 Assessment Programme this week to help IT leaders provide a business view of IT’s ability to create value and support enterprise goals through robust and effective IT processes.
The COBIT 5 Assessment Programme, based on COBIT 5 and ISO/IEC 15504-2:2003 Information technology—Process assessment—Part 2: Performing an assessment, includes:
·COBIT Process Assessment Model (PAM): Using COBIT 5
·COBIT Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5
·COBIT Self-Assessment Guide: Using COBIT 5
“Information is one of a company’s greatest assets, and the challenge enterprises are facing is how to govern and manage it effectively,” said Steven Babb, CGEIT, CRISC, chair of ISACA’s Framework Committee and head of governance, risk and assurance at Betfair. “The COBIT 5 Assessment Programme helps enterprises ensure strong, reliable and consistent processes, which is a key component of effective governance.”
Process assessments using the COBIT Assessment Programme can be as broad or as narrow in scope as the enterprise requires. The assessments identify where problems exist and how IT is aligned with stakeholder needs.
“Having a clear line of sight into process capability allows IT leaders to redirect resources as needed and helps them gain C-level buy-in for change and improvement initiatives,” said Babb
