Rolling Meadows, IL, USA: Due to increasing demand for the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certifications, global IT association ISACA is adding a third CISA and CISM exam administration in 2013.
Previously offered twice each year—in June and December—the CISA and CISM exams will also be administered in September in 2013. The September administration will be held in 52 locations worldwide. A full list of sites is available at www.isaca.org/sept2013sites.
Now in its 35th year, the CISA certification has been earned by nearly 100,000 professionals since inception. CISM, established in 2002, has been earned by more than 18,000professionals.
Both certifications, as well as ISACA’s Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) designation, are finalists for SC Magazine’s 2013 Best Professional Certification Program Award.
Additionally, all four of ISACA’s certifications—CISA, CISM, CRISC and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)—were recognized among the highest-paying certifications in the latest quarterly update of Foote Partners’ IT Skills and Certifications Pay IndexTM.
“CISA, CISM, and CRISC are earning premiums that place them in the top 7 percent of all 268 certifications currently being reported,” said David Foote, chief analyst at Foote Partners LLC. “And CGEIT gained 25 percent in average market value from July 1 to October 1, 2012. ISACA continues to do an excellent job updating its certification programs to maintain their value to employers and their competitiveness in the marketplace”
“The need for a third exam, the SC Award recognitions and the Foote Partners’ pay index all demonstrate that employers are placing a high value on ISACA’s certifications,” said Allan Boardman, chair of ISACA’s Credentialing and Career Management Board. “These certifications demonstrate a depth of knowledge, proven experience and a commitment to the field—and the individuals who have earned them are seeing real rewards as a result.
