BARENDRECHT: Enterprise mobility specialist VeliQ and T-Systems International have signed an extensive partnership to offer enterprise mobility solutions from the cloud. The Net centric mobile device management service is based on VeliQ’s flagship product MobiDM, and is offered by T-Systems from its tier three hosting and housing facilities. T-Systems has introduced the new service at the CeBIT fair in Hannover.
The emergence of cloud computing turns out to be particularly suited to provide content and Apps for mobile devices. Therefore an extensive management platform is needed to equip administrators and end-users with the required tools and Apps and to grant access to both business as personal content. Device management tools help, but they require considerable investment, training and often have complex and costly license structures. The new T-systems MobiDM based service offers all this in a 'pay-as-you-go' model, immediately available without startup cost, secure from the cloud.
Dr. Marcus Hacke, Senior Vice President Portfolio & Solution Design, T-Systems International GmbH, comments: "Through our partnership with VeliQ we complement our portfolio with a comprehensive solution of Mobile Device Management as Software as a Service. A solution that responds to the strongly growing demand from large corporations through its flexibility, attractive conditions and rich feature set."
"It's our mission to make the management of all mobile devices within companies as simple and secure as possible", says Alex Bausch, the founder and CEO of VeliQ. "Thanks to this new partnership we can expand the availability of our MobiDM service throughout EMEA, using the triple A cloud facilities of T-systems."
Via an intuitive web interface, MobiDM makes it possible to extensively automate routine management tasks, independently of the platform and devices. This considerably reduces the implementation time of a 'Mobile Device Management' solution and also reduces the total cost of ownership and risks. A fixed monthly fee for each device means that companies no longer need to invest in software, staff and development themselves. MobiDM is an easy to use Software as a Service solution, that can be implemented in some 15 minutes and can be expanded on a flexible basis in line with the company's requirements and Mobility strategy.
In the summer of 2011, T-Venture, the Venture Capital Company of Deutsche Telekom, took an equity stake in VeliQ to finance the rapid international growth and technical innovations of MobiDM. As part of the investment, T-Systems partnered with VeliQ to offer managed mobility from the cloud based on the MobiDM technology.
