LONDON: WorldPay, a global leader in payment processing, risk and alternative payments and Intershop, a leading provider of state-of-the-art eCommerce solutions have today announced an agreement which will see WorldPay services integrated with the Intershop 7 platform. The integration will provide retail merchants with a complete eCommerce solution with extensive payment processing, global customer reach and risk functionality.

WorldPay’s payment gateway and its market-leading risk management service, RiskGuardian, will be available to Intershop 7 customers.

The integration of WorldPay’s services into the Intershop platform seeks to maximise merchants’ transaction success and their ability to execute cross-border strategies by offering customers access to locally preferred methods of payments through WorldPay’s portfolio of 200+ alternative payment types. According to the Global Online Shopper Report, commissioned by WorldPay, 61% of online shoppers have greater confidence in a website that offers them a choice of payment methods.

Intershop has delivered pioneering eCommerce solutions for over 20 years to large global brands, including Bosch, Majestic Wines, Red Wing Shoes and BMW. Intershop's solutions are delivered through a worldwide network of specialist partners that it is extremely agile and responsive to market demands. By integrating WorldPay services into the eCommerce ecosystem, it enables Intershop’s customers to ensure maximum transaction acceptance. Merchants are able to gain access to WorldPay’s services through customisable direct or hosted integration.

Merchants using the solution will benefit from a seamless and fast payment experience with tokenisation functionality, which ensures customers experience a quick checkout. In addition, the integration enables merchants to maximise revenue by capturing payments from multiple touchpoints including online, mobile and MOTO channels.

Shane Happach, Chief Commercial Officer, eCommerce division at WorldPay, comments: “Following WorldPay’s integration with Intershop’s platform, merchants can now benefit from a comprehensive eCommerce solution that delivers unrivalled payment processing, risk and alternative payment capabilities. If they are to make the most of the potential that eCommerce brings, merchants must employ systems that are interoperable and efficient for them, and bring added value and convenience for customers. Consumers will not think twice about abandoning their shopping cart if their preferred payment method is not available. This integration places emphasis on the importance of the availability of preferred payment types, which many other platforms do not consider, to enable merchants to operate eCommerce globally through a single interface.”

Jochen Moll, Member and Spokesman of the Board of Management at Intershop: “We are committed to ensuring that our customers have the most accessible range of tools to enable eCommerce growth with minimal effort. By integrating WorldPay’s extensive payment processing and fraud offering into Intershop 7, our customers are able to easily internationalize their businesses by providing a great variety of payment methods that will support consumers’ preferences.”
