Captain Wales completes 18-month training...receives best co-pilot gunner award

EX Crimson Eagle Capt Wales prepares his Apache to go out on a mission. Ex Crimson Eagle is the final conversion training for Army Air Corps Apache pilots, the first part takes place in Naval Air Facility (NAF) El Centro, California before moving to Gila Bend in Arizona for the live firing phase. This is because the terrain here is very similar to that of Afghanistan, making it extremely realistic and demanding for the pilots. The pilots which include Capt Wales (Prince Harry) have had over 12 months training to get to this point. where they now face 2 and a half months of tactics, flying and live firing to qualify them as Limited Combat Ready Apache pilots

Bright futures ahead for security industry apprentices

BSIA Against a backdrop of economic austerity, rocketing youth unemployment and a challenging job market, young people working in the security industry are bucking the trend and emerging on long-term careers, gaining skills along the way, thanks to the industry’s wholehearted support of its young apprentices.

As National Apprenticeship Week (6^th – 10^th February 2012) draws to a close, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) is highlighting the ongoing campaign across the UK’s security industry to encourage young people to consider a career in security. Last year, the BSIA supported Skills for Security’s ‘100 in 100’ challenge, an initiative aimed at employing 100 apprentices in the industry in just 100 days. Actions speak louder than words, of course, and to demonstrate its own commitment to the cause, the BSIA has since appointed its own Business Administration Apprentice, 18-year-old Rhian Brown.
