PISCATAWAY, NJ: Opengear has announced its 17th quarter of continual sales growth in EMEA with increases across all product lines. This growth has been boosted by international expansion that has seen Opengear strengthen its channel to around 400 partners across 67 countries within its two tier distribution model.
“Opengear’s unique focus on out-of-band technology has allowed us to dedicate our research and development resources to solving customer needs. This has led to breakthrough innovations such as failover to cellular and Lighthouse, the industry’s first centralized network management platform for managing thousands of smart-out-of-band appliances from a single screen,” says Derek Watkins, Vice President of Sales EMEA & India at Opengear.
“If you look at the wider market for console servers, we have seen recent consolidation amongst out-of-band vendors. For us, the last decade has been about pushing the technological envelope and listening to what customers and partners want us to build, a portfolio that spans from small branch offices to the most resilient tier 1 data centres.”
These strong numbers coincide with new drivers, such as hyper convergence and Internet of Things adoption that have led to sustained data centre refreshes and replacement of legacy console servers with more modern critical infrastructure management solutions.
“Another trend we are seeing is the increasing importance of edge infrastructure,” said Marcio Saito, CTO, Opengear, “The growing adoption of IoT and consumption of rich media content demand the deployment of IT infrastructure outside the data centre, closer to the user, increasing the need for remote infrastructure management. IT departments are starting to understand that having a direct management capability via cellular connections is not only beneficial but mission critical.”
Other recent Opengear highlights include the signing up of new distribution partners across Africa, Central Asia and China along with the launch of four new Remote Site Gateway models. Over the next 6 months, Opengear will participate in several key events including Cisco Live and GITEX.
“Opengear in EMEA during 2017 is building on what we have done successfully over the last few years, working with our partners and distributors to strengthen markets and explore new vertical areas – for example critical infrastructure management in areas like transportation and logistics. But above all, we will keep on innovating in a market that is still showing buoyant growth, Watkins adds.
