Basingstoke, U.K: Barracuda Networks, Inc. has been named a leader in the IDC Marketscape: Worldwide Messaging Security Appliance/Software 2013-2014 Vendor Assessment (IDC #244306). In this report, Barracuda was cited as having a strong portfolio and delivery model for its Barracuda Spam Firewall (appliance and virtual appliance) to address messaging security requirements for customers.
IDC recognised Barracuda for having, “strong competency in running an efficient and cost-effective security hardware appliance business.” Additionally the report noted a key strength in Barracuda’s email security solutions is the integration with its archiving/backup solutions in the cloud and on-premise, which IDC indicated is a key feature.

IDC again named Barracuda the content security appliance volume leader as reported in its Worldwide Quarterly Security Appliance Tracker, Q3, December 2013. According to the report, Barracuda leads the market in content security appliance units with a 10.3 percent market share.
