Vigilance can reveal that CCD, the leading consultancy specialising in user-centred design and the optimisation of environments, products and systems will be at this year’s Counter Terror Expo 2011 which takes place from 19th to 20th April at London’s Olympia.
According to a company source, CCD will be demonstrating how its expertise in human factors can be utilised to improve the usability of security technology, including multi-touch control systems. Human factors thinking is increasingly being applied in the security and anti-terrorist sectors to reduce or eliminate the terrorist threat. CCD has recently been appointed by The Home Office to conduct research into a potential ‘Human Factors Testing Process’ for security screening measures.
Vigilance learnt that CCD will be showcasing 30 years of user-centred control room design. Visitors to the consultancy’s stand will be able to see examples of how CCD integrates interior and architectural design with
ergonomics to deliver high quality control room layouts for the emergency services, security, retail, transport and the energy markets.
