1st International Forensic Technology Fair CrimeLab 2012
Warsaw: Corruption, murders, robberies, rapes and forgeries are some of the felonies that our country's authorities deal with on a daily basis. To provide the highest possible level of security and observance of the law, experts from public institutions and forensic laboratories continue to polish their skills and update their knowledge.
The latest forensic achievements will be presented, among other things, during lectures that will be held as part of the 1st International Forensic Technology Fair CrimeLab 2012, which will be held at MT Polska’s Fair and Conference Centre at ul. Marsa 56c in Warsaw on 28-30 March.
An official of CrimeLab 2012 reveals that a number of interesting seminars and lectures will be held in MT Polska's conference rooms saying the first day of the event will feature a conference entitled: Forensic science as utilised by the judicial and law enforcement authorities.
Vigilance learnt that that during the meeting, experts from the Professor Dr. Jan Sehn Institute of Forensic Research in Krakow will discuss issues related to identifying perpetrators of crimes on the basis of biological evidence, including DNA samples and skeletal material, as well as to firearms, poisons and internet crime.
It was also said a seminar would be offered by the Border Patrol Forensic Laboratory entitled: Verification of the authenticity of travel documents in Border Patrol Units using technologies available on the first line of inspection. The speakers will focus on what occurs during border checks and on the process carried out by agents at each stage of the check. The Border Patrol experts will also present the layout and security features of travel documents that help validate their authenticity quickly and accurately.
Vigilance gathered that another lecture has been slated for 28 March entitled: New Goals for the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau with respect to preventing and combating corruption and it will be delivered by Sławomir Śnieżko, Chief of Staff for the Head of the CACB. It is expected that during the presentation, participants will learn about the Bureau’s achievements and new anti-corruption initiatives currently being pursued.
Visitors to the CrimeLab fair will also be able to attend other associated events prepared by renowned experts from public institutions and companies specialising in forensics.
In addition to lectures, visitors to the CrimeLab fair may also explore dozens of stands where exhibitors will present a comprehensive product offer for forensic laboratories, including equipment, tools and devices used in crime scene investigations, and to document, perpetuate and present evidence.
